In plain language

TaskStack is a direct, read-only client for Google Classroom. A Google account with Classroom access is required because TaskStack displays content from that account. TaskStack does not offer a separate account or password, and no TaskStack-operated server or database receives your Google profile, Classroom content, folders, calendar information, or widget content.

TaskStack does not sell personal data, show advertising, track you across apps or websites, or offer a paid tier.

Information TaskStack accesses

Google account and Google Classroom

When you choose to connect Google Classroom, Google's authorization service provides your device with basic account information, such as your Google account identifier, name, and email address. TaskStack requests only these read-only Google Classroom permissions:

TaskStack uses these permissions to read your active class identifiers, names and sections; published coursework identifiers, titles, deadlines and links; and your own submission state, late status, relevant submission timestamps, and submission link.

TaskStack cannot create or edit classes, post or submit coursework, change grades, or modify Google Classroom content.

Google Sign-In SDK

TaskStack includes Google's Sign-In SDK to perform authorization and restore your Google connection. The SDK's Apple privacy manifest says it may process linked name, email address, phone number, coarse location, user identifier, device identifier, other data, and other usage data for app functionality and, for some categories, analytics. It declares that this information is not used for tracking.

TaskStack does not separately request, store, or use your phone number, coarse location, device identifier, or Google SDK analytics data, and the developer does not operate an analytics or advertising service that receives it. Google's processing is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Calendar and notifications

If you grant Calendar access, TaskStack finds its own marked events to avoid duplicates and creates or updates 15-minute deadline events containing the assignment title, due time, Classroom link, and a private TaskStack marker. If you allow notifications, TaskStack can schedule assignment reminders on your device.

How information is used

To connect directly to your Google Classroom account and restore that connection.
To show your selected classes and unfinished coursework in TaskStack folders and widgets.
To identify due, non-deadline, completed, and missing work.
To open assignments in Google Classroom.
To create calendar events and device reminders when you allow them.

TaskStack's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Storage and retention

Google authentication credentials are handled by Google Sign-In and stored securely in the iOS Keychain.
Your account identifier, folder names, folder colours, selected class identifiers, cached classes and assignments, and calendar mappings are stored locally on your device.
Widget content is stored in TaskStack's private App Group so its widget extension can display it.
TaskStack does not upload your Google profile, classes, assignments, folders, calendar information, or widget content to a developer-operated backend.
Local settings and cached content remain until you remove them in TaskStack or delete the app and its data.
Calendar events already added at your request remain in Calendar until you delete them.

Sharing and third parties

TaskStack communicates directly with Google for authorization and Classroom data, with Apple system services for widgets and notifications, and with the calendar provider configured on your device when you choose Calendar integration. Those providers process information under their own policies.

This legal website is hosted by Netlify, which may process technical request data such as IP addresses, browser details, and server logs. TaskStack adds no analytics scripts, advertising trackers, or marketing cookies.

TaskStack does not sell information or share it with advertising platforms, data brokers, or unrelated third parties.

Your choices and deletion

You may refuse Google Classroom, Calendar, or notification permission, although the related feature will not work.
You can disconnect Google Classroom from TaskStack's settings. This ends TaskStack's Google connection and removes the active widget content from TaskStack's private widget container.
You can remove TaskStack's saved folders, cached Classroom content, and local calendar bookkeeping from TaskStack's settings.
You can revoke TaskStack's Google authorization at any time from your Google Account's third-party connections page.
You can remove all remaining TaskStack data by deleting the app and its data from your device.
You must manually delete any TaskStack-created calendar events you no longer want.

Because TaskStack does not create an independent TaskStack account or store your content on a developer-operated backend, there is no separate TaskStack cloud account to delete.

Children and school accounts

TaskStack may be used with a school-managed Google account. Users must follow their school's rules and obtain parent, guardian, or school permission where required. Google Workspace administrators may control whether an account can authorize TaskStack.

Changes and contact

This policy may be updated when TaskStack's data practices change. The effective date above will be revised, and material changes may require a new acknowledgement in the app.
